NYPL Tour – June 13th

SLA Hudson Valley Chapter invites you to
 a tour of New York Public Library’s  Schwarzman building
Fifth Avenue at 42nd Street, New York, NY
at 3:00PM on June 13, 2012
 Cost: $5 paid at the door
 
Plan on a night out in the City
and join us for a snack’ n’ chat afterwards (cash bar/menu)
at  Bryant Park Cafe right behind the library
 
Tour will start in Astor Hall on the main floor of the library which is
directly inside the 5th Avenue entrance. At the end of the tour, we will
be joined by a librarian from the NYPL’s General Research Division to
answer questions.
 
Should you need to check in coats/bags or other items, please use a free coat
check at a side entrance  on 42nd Street.

Directions from Westchester: Take 287 West to the New York State Thruway (I-87) North bound, take exit 9 Tarrytown (last exit before the Tappan Zee Bridge). At the end of the exit ramp turn left onto Route 119 West. Continue to the end of the road and turn left at the traffic light onto Route 9 South. At the 1st traffic light turn right into hotel parking lot.

Annual Meeting – November 29, 2011

Guest Speaker: Tessa Killian is a librarian and the Associate Director for Member Services at the Southeastern New York Library Resources Council, where she has worked since 2000. Tessa’s responsibilities include project management, recruitment, training and publicity for Hudson River Valley Heritage.

Guest Speaker: Jennifer Palmentiero is the Digital Services Librarian at the Southeastern NY Library Resources Council. She has been involved with the Hudson River Valley Heritage (HRVH) digitization service since 2004. Jennifer provides training and assistance to all HRVH contributors, particularly in the
areas of scanning, metadata creation, and use of the CONTENTdm digital asset management software.
